story It’s time for us women to rise up in 2014.  It’s time for us women to take hold of our dreams and make them a reality.  It’s time for us women to not only listen but to apply what we hear.

2013 was a great year.  We saw new voices come out all over the country.  We read new books that inspired and encouraged us.  We also saw old names cast new vision. But, I believe 2014 is going to be a year of our story.  From these stories will be boldness and freshness from the typical blog post, the traditional memoir written or conference spoken.  This year, I believe, will be the year new faces and a new message will be given.

Without sounding to “Christianese”, we need more women telling the truth as it is then “sugar-coating” what we think is only acceptable.  Let’s not complain about why there were not more women at a conference then men and instead plow through the barriers with our message, our stories.  Stories change people.  They change lives and if you are a writer, a speaker or even a reader of this today, isn’t that what the goal should be anyway?

This year I want to be like the women in Matthew 8:1-3.  I want to be like Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Susanna.  These were women that ministered along Jesus and His disciples.  They went along the cities and villages telling their stories. Using the sins of their past and the healing of their bodies as words to inspire those listening.  Changing lives and pointing them to the one that has the best Message of all.  This year let’s not be ashamed of who we are or what we believe in.  Let’s make 2014 the year where our story can change a life of one or many.

What is your story?
